Bandits to Face 5-0 Red Sox  

The Bandits will face the Red Sox (5-0) for the second and final time during the regular season Saturday, May 7 @ 4:00 at Pete Goldsby Stadium.  The Red Sox defeated the Bayou Bandits 9-1 in the first meeting on April 10th.  During the first meeting, Jonathan Kohn suffered the lost going 5 innings, allowing 3 runs on 6 hits and striking out 10.  Top hitters for the Bandits during that game were Kelly Caillier 2-3, 1 run, Trase Guidry 2-4, and Joey Caillier 1-3, rbi.  The Red Sox were led offensively by Lucas Soileaux, 2-3, 2 rbi's, 2-2b's, Dustin Singleterry, 2-4, 2 runs, and Page Warde, 2-5.  The Red Sox duo of Lance Songy (Southern University) and lefty Brandon Kling (UNO) held the Bandits to 1 run.  Songy pitched 5 innings, allowing 3 hits, -0 runs and striking out 6 to claim the victory.  Kling closed the game going 4 innings, allowing 1 run on 2 hits, and struck out 6.
The Bandits are led offensively by Nick Boudreaux (5-19, 2-2b's, 2-3b's, 8 rbi's), Trase Guidry (3-12), Kyle Poirier (5-18, 2 runs).  New comers PJ Judice (4-8, 2 runs, 1 rbi), Derek Gondron (3-6, 3 sb) and rookie Mace Hebert seek to add spark to the lineup.
On the mound, the Bandits are led by 6'-7" Jonathan Kohn.  Kohn pitched 22.2 innings, has an era of 5.56, allowed 16 runs, 14 earned, walking 19, and allowed 27 hits.  Kohn currently leads the league in strikeouts with 40, highest strikeout total for 1 game with 16, and highest strikeouts per 9 innings with 15.88.  Opponents are hitting .290 vs. Kohn.
The Red Sox are led by Lucas Soileaux (9-19 .474, 9 runs, 4 rbi's), Page Warde (9-21 .429, 5 runs, 4 rbi's, 3B) and Kendal Weatherford (8-19 .421, 8 runs, 2-3b's.
