Bandits to face Defending Baton Rouge MABL Champs |
The
Bayou Bandits will face the (4-4) Outkast this Sunday, the
2004 Baton Rouge MABL champions. The Outkast prove to
have a high potent offense, as they lead the league in runs
scored, scoring 75 runs in 8 games. The Outkast started
off strong in the season, winning their first 3 games.
The went on to a 4 game losing streak, and turned things
around last week with a 9-1 victory over the Orioles.
The 4 wins for the Outkast come from the 2-6 Dirtbags (16-4
win), 4-3 Cubs (8-3 win), 3-5 Brewers (18-6 win), and the 5-3
Orioles (9-1 win). The 4 lossed have come from 3-5 Royals
(11-10 loss), 6-2 Red Sox (6-5 loss), 5-3 Bengals (12-5 loss)
and the 6-1 Astros (11-5 loss).
The Outkast rely on Jason Jobes on the
mound. Jobes is 3-2 on the year, and has pitched 41
innings. He has allowed 53 hits, 35 runs, 23 earned,
walked 6 batters, and struck out 27. Jobes holds a 5.05
ERA. Offensively, the Outkast are led by league leading
hitter Justin Babin. Babin is hitting .500 (12-24) with 9 runs
and 9 rbi's, 2 doubles, and 2 homeruns. Other top
hitters for the Outkast are Travis Valenti (.387, 12-31, 8
runs, 8 rbi's), Derek Hopper (.355, 11-31, 10 runs, 6 rbi's)
and Nolan Valenti (.348, 8-23, 7 runs, 9 rbi's, 1 HR).
The Bandits look to keep things going
as their 4 wins come from their last 6 games. The
Bandits are coming off of a 10-0 victory over the Dirtbags.
Jonathan Kohn (4-3) pitched 6 scoreless innings, striking out
15 batters, while PJ Judice closed off the game to hold the
shutout. The Bandits 4 wins have come against the 5-3
Orioles (6-2 win), 6-2 Red Sox (9-3 win), 6-1 Astros (13-5
win) and the 2-6 Dirtbags (10-0) win. The 5 losses come
from the 4-3 Yankees (9-6 loss), 6-2 Red Sox (9-1 loss), 3-5

top hitters expected to be back in the lineup are Mace Hebert
