The
2-4 Bandits are looking to spoil another undefeated teams
record and climb in the standings when they face the 5-0
Astro's. Last week, the underdog Bandits defeated the
5-0 Red Sox by the score of 9-3. The Bandits hope to
keep things rolling this week, as they face an explosive
offensive team.
The American League Astro's are
ranked 1st in the league in team batting average (.378) and
team slugging (.553). The Astro's recorded 71 hits in 5
games, and have scored 58 runs. They defeated the Devil
Rays (0-4 record) 8-4, Dirtbags (1-4 record )
17-15, Cubs (2-3 record) 13-11, Brewers (3-2 record)
8-4, and the Outkast (3-2 record) 11-5.
Leading the way for the Astro's is Jeremy Hatcher (.500,
10-20, 11 runs, 5 rbi's, 2-2B's), Brandon Seals (.458, 11-24,
5 runs, 8 rbi's, 2-2b's), Jonathan Stelly (.444, 8-18, 7 runs,
8 rbi's) and Chip Chauvin (7-16, 4 runs, 5 rbi's, 1-2b, 3 HR's).
The Astro's go to guy on the mound is Jonathan Stelly (4-0).
Stelly is no stranger to the Bandits, as the Bandits have
faced Stelly in the past in the Acadiana Amateur Baseball
League for several years. Stelly pitched 25.2 innings
and supports a 5.26 ERA. He allowed 28 hits while
striking out 26. Other pitchers for the Astro's are
Brandon Bennett (1-0, 1 save, 9.1 IP, 9 runs, 4 BB, 13 K's, 9
hits) and Josh Brown (0-0, 1 save, 6.0 IP, 11 runs, 4 BB, 11
K's, 11 hits).
The Bandits are led offensively by PJ
Judice (.417, 5-12, 4 runs, 3 rbi's), Trase Guidry (.333,
4-12, 1 run), Chris Cortese (3-8, 1 run), Derek Gondron (3-8,
1 run), and Kyle Poirier (.300, 6-20, 4 runs). On
the mound, Jonathan Kohn (2-2) pitched a complete game last
week vs. the Red Sox. Kohn and company held the
undefeated Red Sox to 3 runs. Kohn has an ERA of 4.55 in
