Jonathan
Kohn Makes Collegiate Offensive Deput |
| |
When a pitcher enters his career as a college player, he
usually has a designated hitter hit for him regardless
of their offensive capabilities. Over 3
years of playing college ball, and concentrating mainly
on his pitching ability, Jonathan Kohn made his
offensive collegiate debut as a designated hitter when
the Chicago State Cougars took on the University of
Wisconsin - Milwaukee.
Kohn was recruited to the Bandits in 2004 based on his
6'-7" frame, and the fact that he was currently pitching
for Southern University. Once arriving with the
team, Kohn proved he can also swing the bat for the
Bayou Bandits. Kohn hit .526 his first yr,
followed by a .467 average in the Iberia Wooden Bat
League. Last season, Kohn finished the season with
a .333 average, going 14-42 with 12 rbi's, 9 runs, 4
doubles in 13 games.
In his collegiate offensive debut, Kohn went 2-4 with a
single, a 3 run Home Run and a walk.
Not bad for a college pitcher who hasn't had a plate
appearance
in over 3 years of college ball. |
