Bandits Capture 2007 AABL Championship
Due to weather, labor day weekend, and current college players going back to school, the Bayou Bandits have captured their 5th AABL title in 8 years along with Del Corp. 

The Bayou Bandits finished their season at 12-4, Del Corp 10-7.  The Bandits defeated Del Corp 13-7 in their only meeting on the year.

Bandits Jeremy Whipple Has Career High 18 K's
Jeremy Whipple (5-1) got the win on the mound, and did so with dominance. Whipple pitched 7 innings vs the Buffalo Wild WIngs (10-5), allowed 1 run, 0 earned, 5 hits, 0 base on balls, while striking out a career high 18 batters.  Stephen Padgett (5-2) suffered his second loss of the year, both coming to the Bandits. Padgett pitched 4 innings, allowed 5 runs on 8 hits, while striking out 6.  The Bandits went up 3-0 after the 2nd inning, stretching out the lead 9-1 at the end of 8 innings. Whipple and Kelly Caillier each went 2-3 for the Bandits, Chris Dumatrait ,PJ Judice, Ryan Judice and Edde LeBlanc went 2-4.  The Bandits advance to the 2007 AABL Championship game.

With a 12-2 victory over the Brewers, the Bandits finish regular season with the best record in the league, and the division title.  Corey Diaz made his debut on the mound going 2 innings, allowing 1 run on 1 hit, followed by Chris Dumatrait and Ryan Judice, also making their 2007 pitching debuts.  Joey Caillier and Mace Hebert each had homeruns and triples. Logan Lasseigne also added 4 hits at the plate going 4-5.

Now the Bandits face the Buffalo Wild Wings, Sunday August 12 at Fabacher field, 12:00 pm.  The Bandits are 1-2 vs. the Wings, with the Bandits defeated the Wings 13-3 in their last outing.

In the last 3 games, the Bandits had 63 hits, and outscored their opponents 61-15. The Bandits hope to keep their momentum going into the playoffs.

Bandits Score Big Again

Mace Hebert led off the Bandits offensive attack the same way he ended the game, with a homerun.  Hebert led off the bottom of the 1st with a solo homerun, and finished the game with a 3 run homerun in the bottom of the 6th to give the Bandits a 15 run rule victory, 26-11 .  The Bandits combined for 23 hits.   Trase Guidry got the win on the mound, going 5 innings, allowing 9 runs, 5 earned, on 8 hits and striking out 6.

Bandits now face the Brewers on Saturday, August 10th. A victory, and the Bandits will have the best record in the AABL going into the playoffs.

First Round of the playoffs is Sunday, August 12th at 12:00, Fabacher Stadium.

Game vs. Brewers Rained Out

Too much rain during the week, and a little rain on Sunday postponed the Bayou Bandits game Sunday.  The Bandits will makeup the game on Thursday, August 9th at 7:00 pm at Fabacher Field.

 

Bandits Demolish Red Sox in 5 Innings

The Bayou Bandits got their 9th win on the season defeating the Red Sox 22-2 in 5 innings. The Bandits combined for 26 hits, including 9 doubles, 1 triple, and 2 homeruns.
Jeremy Whipple got his 4th win on the year pitching 4 innings, allowing 1 run, 0 walks and 7 strikeouts.

Logan Lasseigne Advances to Championship Round In The HR Derby


3 players advance to the Championship round of the homerun derby, date and time will be announced at a later date. The HR Derby was halted due to the rain.

Bayou Bandits Beat the Brewers to in 7 innings

Acadiana H.S. - Bandits Jeremy Whipple (3-1) pitched a 2 hit complete game as the Bandits defeated the Brewers 12-1. Whipple struck out 7 and did not walk any batters.  Leading the way for the Bandits at the plate was Brent Solich (2-3, 2 rbi's, 1 run, 2B). Corey Diaz and Logan Lasseigne each added a hit with 2 rbi's.  Daniel Horton took the loss for the Brewers, going 3 innings, allowing 7 runs, 6 earned on 5 hits, walking 3, striking out 2 and hitting one batter.  Matt Goulas and Jude Vice both went 1-2 for the Brewers

Bayou Bandits Defeat Del Corp in Rainout Makup Game

Lafayette H.S. - With Del Corp leading 3-1 in the bottom of the 2nd, the Bandits and Del Corp continued their rainout game Saturday. The Bandits scored 7 runs in the bottom of the 2nd inning to pull away from Del Corp 13-7.  PJ Judice got the win on the mound going 4 innings, allowing 4 runs, 1 earned, walking 5 and striking out 2.  The Bandits had a pair of homeruns from Logan Lasseigne (2-3, 3 rbi's, 3 runs, HR) and Brent Solich (2-3, 5 rbi's, 2 runs, HR).  Alex Harding made his debut on the mound for Del Corp, receiving the loss, going 4 innings, allowing 9 runs on 7 hits, and striking out 4.

Bayou Bandits Shutout Red Sox

Trase Guidry made his AABL debut with a complete game shoutout as the Bandits rolled passed the Red Sox 13-0.  Guidry (1-0) pitched 7 complete innings, allowing 7 hits while striking out 5.  At the plate for the Bandits, Logan Lasseigne and Ryan Judice each had Homeruns. Lasseigne went 2-4 with a homerun and a triple, 2 rbi's and 2 runs. Judice went 2-3 with 2 rbi's and 2 runs. Guidry added 2 hits of his own, and PJ Judice went 3-3.  Matt Latiolais took the loss for the Red Sox, pitching 2.1 innings, allowing 8 runs, 7 earned, while striking out 3.

Bandits Fall to Buffalo Wild Wings 8-1

The Buffalo Wild Wings (5-2) maintained the first place division with an 8-1 win over the Bandits (4-3).  PJ Judice took the loss on the mound going 5 innings, allowing 7 runs, 3 earned, 8 hits, while striking out 3.  Tyler Bourque closed the game going 3 innings, allowing 1 run on 3 hits and striking out 3.  Judice and Joey Caillier led the way at the plate for the Bandits each getting 2 hits.  Corey Diaz scored the Bandits only run after hitting a single, then advancing around the bases on passed balls.  With 2 outs, Diaz showed his speed scoring on a wild pitch.

Bandits Continue Winning
5/20/07
The Bayou Bandits pulled off a 5-3 win over the Bears (0-6).  Jeremy Whipple got his 2nd win on the year going 7 innings, allowing 3 runs and striking out 14.  Tyler Bourque got his first save on the year pitching the final 2 innings, allowing 0 runs, 0 hits, and striking out 2.  At the plate, Nick Boudreaux and Ryan Judice each had 2 hits. 
The Bandits jumped up on the Bears 2-0 after the first inning.  The Bears hit a 3 rbi double to clear the bases and take the lead.  Down 3-2 in the 6th inning, Whipple helped his cause on the mound getting a 2 rbi double to take the lead 4-3.
The Bandits face the Buffalo Wild Wings on May 27th for the battle for first place in  the National League. The Wings defeated the Bandits on opening day 3-2.

New Comer Travis Whipple Hits 2 HR's
Travis Whipple made an impression in his first game as he went 3-4 with 2 homeruns, 5 rbi's and 4 runs.  Whipple led off the game with a solo homerun, later adding a grand slam in the 8th inning.
PJ Judice (2-1) got his second win on the mound going 7 innings, allowing 3 runs, 2 earned, 5 hits, and striking out 9.  Jeremy Whipple closed the game going 2 innings, allowing 0 hits, 0 runs, 0 BB, and striking out 4.  Ryan Judice Went 2-3 at the plate, driving in 3 rbi's, with a double.

Bandits Bats Come Alive

The Bayou Bandits combined for 27 hits to defeat the Red Sox (1-2) 20-1 in 8 innings.  Every player in the lineup got a hit. Leading the way was PJ Judice, getting his first HR of the year, going 2-5, 3 rbi's, 2 runs, HR. Chris Dumatrait went 4-5 with 3 rbi's, 2 runs, 2b, Joey Caillier, Kelly Caillier, Jeremy Whipple, all went 3-4 on the day.
PJ Judice got his first win on the mound going 7 innings, allowing 1 run on 3 hits and striking out 5. Tyler Bourque finished the game on the mound going 1 inning, allowing 0 runs, 0 hits and 2 strikeouts.

Bandits Capture First Win

Jeremy Whipple and PJ Judice combined for 19 strikeouts to shutout a potent  Trojans offense 2-0.  Whipple received the win going 7 innings, allowing 4 hits, 0 walks and striking out 14.  Judice got the save going 2 innings, striking out 5.  Nick Boudreaux was the hero at the plate getting a 2 rbi single in the 3rd inning.

Opening Day
On April 1st, 2007, the Bayou Bandits will begin their quest to regain their AABL championship.  The Bandits face the Buffalo Wild Wings, formerly known as Dupuy's Animal Hospital. Buffalo Wild Wings are in their 2nd season, finishing 6-7-1 last year. The Buffalo Wild Wings made a few changes in the offseason, picking up a handful of STM players. On the list, is All-State pitcher Steven Padgett.

This is the first meeting of the 2 teams.


Bandits Add Bourque
Tyler Bourque is the newest member of the Bayou Bandits. Bourque will replace the injured Ty Landry. Bourque played at Westgate from 2000-2004 and the New Iberia Jaycee Cajuns (Select Baseball) from 2003-2005. Tyler adds another strong arm to the mound and a hot bat at the plate.

Bayou Bandits Return to Lafayette

After 2 years of playing in the Baton Rouge MABL, the Bayou Bandits return to the Acadiana Amateur Baseball League in Lafayette, Louisiana.  The Bandits look to capture it's 5th championship.

The season is expected to start on April 1st, 2007!

Whipple Returns in 2007

Former Braves pitcher Jeremy Whipple will rejoin the team for the 2007 season, adding pitching and hitting power to the team.  Whipple played with the Braves in 2003 and was an All-Star selection.  Whipple started on the mound in a pitching duel vs. the LA. Dodgers draft pick Kenny Plaisance. He went 8 innings, allowing 2 hits, 3 runs and 13 K's.  He also went 1-2 at the plate with a stolen base. Other highlights on the mound include a no-hitter, 17 k's, in 7 innings vs. the Brewers in 2003.  Another big game came against the Cobras, pitching 3 innings, allowing 1 hit, and getting all 9 outs by the way of strikeouts.
During the 2003 season, Whipple (2-0) pitched 28 innings, alllowed 14 hits, 13 runs, 10 earned, 52 k's, supported a 3.21 ERA, and opponents hit .141 against him.

Also giving hitting power at the plate, in 12 games, Whipple hit .531 (17-32), 13 runs, 10 rbi's, 4 doubles, 1 triple, and 10 stolen bases.  Whipple only struck out 3 times in 41 plate appearances.
